Nike’s digital marketing, particularly through social media, puts them a step ahead of many other companies selling the same products. Their digital marketing campaigns are creative and capture attention. They involve their audiences creating a connection, not just a one sided marketing technique. For example in the campaign shown below this “chalkbot” was programmed to paint personalized text and online messages in chalk along the route of Tour de France. It was motivational and a positive experience for the people sending encouraging messages as well as the participants that were receiving the encouragement. Nike’s digital campaigns use many different angles to receive a positive response and improve their image among their customers. Nike’s creativity is being missed by some by a lack of platforms that it is advertising it’s campaigns on. It’s presence could be stronger by spreading their campaigns more widely through Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
